CARIBBEAN DIALOGUE ON THE DYNAMICS OF CARIBBEAN ECONOMIC EXPANSION, TRADE AND INVESTMENT
What is it?
It is a process designed to facilitate the expansion of economic opportunities for Caribbean peoples. It has a number of components, namely:
- The preparation, publication and dissemination of informed information on and about the region’s assets.
- The provision of a forum for discussion of strategies to support Caribbean Economic Expansion, in particular within the context of Trade, Economic and Environmental Agreements to which Caribbean countries are Party.
- The provision of a platform to facilitate the mobilisation of Caribbean trans-national communities as potential investors, sources for the provision of technical skills to the region and as a potential market for Caribbean Goods and Services
- The establishment of networking mechanisms to facilitate trade and investment in Caribbean assets.
- The facilitation of asset identification, project and programme design, management and development and marketing.
The Caribbean Dialogue process is a key dimension of CaribInvest trade and investment strategy. In effect, this concept broadens the definition of the Caribbean to include the Caribbean Diaspora wherever they exist (i.e. United Kingdom and Europe, USA, Latin America etc.).
